What Actually Sells on Vinted in Late Summer And How to Get the Best Price

You might think late summer is a slow time to sell clothes online, but savvy sellers know that this in-between season is actually full of opportunities. Buyers are already looking ahead to autumn, and if you time your listings right, you can sell items quickly and for a good price.

Here’s what I’ve learned after helping clients sell on Vinted and managing dozens of listings myself, plus some practical tips to help you get started or refresh your approach.

What Are Buyers Searching for in Late Summer?

Right now, people want:

  • Cardigans and light jumpers: Perfect for those cooler evenings as the seasons start to shift.

  • Transitional knitwear: Lightweight sweaters that can layer easily.

  • Early autumn boots and shoes: Buyers want to be ahead of the cold weather, so list these sooner rather than later.

  • Holiday wear: Some are still planning trips or may have unused summer clothes. If you missed the return window on something you never wore, don’t wait, get it listed quickly!

This is a prime time to review your lighter knitwear and ask: “What haven’t I worn this past season?” Items untouched through spring and last autumn are less likely to be needed.

Common Listing Mistakes to Avoid

  • Poor lighting: Take photos in natural daylight, ideally in the brightest room of your home. Use a plain wall or the back of a door as your backdrop for a clean, distraction-free shot.

  • Presentation matters: Steam or iron your clothes before photographing. Wrinkles and creases can turn buyers off and reduce what you can ask for.

  • Use the right keywords: Think like a buyer. Include brand, size, colour, fabric, and style in your description. Add clear measurements to avoid back-and-forth questions and build buyer trust.

Vinted Isn’t Just for Clothes

Many people don’t realise you can sell much more than clothing on Vinted. I’ve successfully sold and helped clients sell items such as:

  • Furniture

  • Paintings

  • DVDs

  • Bedding

  • Shoes

  • Decorative vases

If it’s in good condition and has a use, there’s often a buyer.

Why I Love Selling on Vinted

Clients often tell me how happy they feel when their items find a new home, knowing the things they no longer want will be used and loved again. Many are surprised by how much money they can make when their listings are well presented and priced correctly. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to underprice items. I’ve sold pieces for hundreds of pounds on Vinted.

Need a Little Help?

If you have a pile of clothes (or other items) waiting to be listed — whether it’s been sitting there for a month or even a year, I offer a Vinted Listing service where I steam, photograph, and list your items on your account. You just need to handle accepting offers and shipping.

Sometimes the biggest hurdle isn’t motivation but removing the friction.
